VEOC Annual Conference

Jon Sweigart and Molly Mead will be presenting at this conference.

An Interactive Introduction to ESOPs (“ESOP 101”)

Molly  will be presenting with Christie Kane from Gardener's Supply Company and Samantha O'Neill from Cirtronics Corporation.

A strong ownership culture is built on a foundation of effective understanding of the ESOP. In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how to communicate the ESOP basics to employee-owners, including what an ESOP is, why companies might want to implement an ESOP, how employee-owners get shares in their account, and how it might affect employee-owners—not just financially, but also in their day-to-day jobs.

Get Involved! How To Build A Continuous Improvement Culture

Jon will be presenting with Jason McKeighan from Carris Reels.

Continuous improvement connects the long-term potential of the ESOP with daily opportunities for employees to think, feel, and act like owners. This interactive workshop explores how Carris Reels, a Vermont-based manufacturing company, is developing a culture of continuous improvement where ideas and improvements are encouraged, valued, and systematically pursued. Praxis consultant Jon Sweigart and Jason McKeighan, Director of Carris VT Operations, will share how to get started and sustain a continuous improvement effort at the organization, process, and employee levels.

Begin, Sustain, Renew. A Lifecycle Approach to Employee Ownership Committees

Jon will also be presenting with Jesse Tyler from Hypertherm.

In this interactive session you can explore and share strategies for starting, maintaining, and renewing effective ownership committees. Facilitators will share common practices of effective committees and make use of the "wisdom in the room" to help you answer important questions such as the ones below. Come willing to share challenges and experiences, ask questions, and learn regardless of whether your committee is just starting, near the end of its current lifecycle, or somewhere in between.

• What are the goals for our committee?
• How do we structure a productive committee?
• What phase of development is our committee in now?
• What will move our committee forward?
• What can we do if we get stuck?
• How do we reset or renew a mature committee?
