Rolling Out Your ESOP: What to Say, When, and How

This chapter by Alex Moss and Matt Hancock was published in the seventh edition of the ESOP Communications Sourcebook by the National Center for Employee Ownership in 2018.

The chapter addresses how to introduce an ESOP to your company, from the initial announcement through follow-up activities. This “rollout” process takes place over 12 to 18 months. It should seek to help employees understand your ownership transition, to enhance trust, and to build a shared commitment to making employee ownership and the company successful.
